Historically, Kenya vaguely became a country in 1885. During this time the political social, religious and economic systems of this new found country was vested on the individual ethnic community. In 1919, when Kenya was declared a colony and protectorate of British, communities had little animosity against each other while some clusters of sister communities had strong and irrevocable peace treaties. Cattle rustling was identified by western historians as the prime cause of periodical discord between ethnic groups.
